HEAT OF THE MOMENT a hilarious play on the theme of conflict between the traditional and modern African culture was entered for the University of Nairobi Drama competition in 1970, and won a selection for staging during the celebrations which marked the inauguration of University of Nairobi that year.

Magaga Alot born in 1950 in Bondo, Kenya is a graduate of Kenyatta College and University of Nairobi and currently an Information Officer at the United Nations in Nairobi. He is a well known literary critic, journalist and author. Previously a correspondent of Africa Magazine, London and Sunday News, Dar es Salaam. He also served for a long time , since 1972 on editorial staff of the Daily Nation and Sunday Post newspapers in Nairobi as well as in the former East African Community in Arusha,Tanzania. Among his publications is the novel, A GIRL CANNOT GO ON LAUGHING ALL THE TIME.
